At last!! I finished to book everything for India! doh!!! that was hard and a bit stressful!
First, I booked the hotel… ok… I looked for weeks about a suitable hotel, every-time I thought I found something good I could read somewhere something awful about it,
like the staff was rude, it smelled bad, etc… ok, I know a hotel can never suits everyone but still…
And in India lot of hotel only have a mention on a website you never heard off and a phone number… great… how do I know that hotel really exists!!! or that contact number is the right person!!
so in the end I found a good compromise… it is a nice hotel, very prestigious and famous chain but which is a bit run down… so it had some bad reviews because of it, because people were expecting 5 star hotel and it wasn’t… but mostly very good review and more importantly everyone said it was a very clean hotel and that staff was very nice! I will publish another note so you can see exactly where we are going, but you will only be able to see it if you are logged in.
next… the flight tickets… doh…
I tried to book the flights for Miss C, and I looked for SO MANY combinations of airlines… so we can get a connection flight in time to go from a big Indian international airport to the small local airport in south India near the hotel… in the end I finally found an airline… about to book the flights online… they ask for a passport number… ok… further delay to get that passport number… I try again when I have the info… this time it says my credit card had a problem… AAAAAH… I call that airline and they tell me that for security reason I first need to call my credit card company for them to authorize my card to work with them… at that stage it is 10pm at night… I am very tired because I haven’t slept much for the last few days (spending time with late work, helping a friend with his laptop, working on my laptop for my photography, stress a bit with things at work, etc)…. I call them… they tell me: “Sorry sir, ur systems are down, try again after midnight”… AAAAARRRGH!!! What the F***!!! must admit it started to really annoy me!! all I wanted to do was to BOOK A HOLIDAY SO I CAN RELAX!!!
ahah!!!! and all it was doing to me… was to stress me out!! only because every damn thing seem to be so difficult to do!
you know… you find a trusted website, it look nice, you click a few buttons, it is booked… you open a bottle of wine, you celebrate, time spent: 1 day max…
at that stage… that was already about 2 or 3 weeks I was looking into that..

anyway… I was determined to book everything! I was going to see this through!!! I WILL GO IN INDIA AND HAVE A GOOD TIME!! hehe :o)
so I waited… 30 minutes past midnight I call… they unlock my card for that website..
I call that airline company again… we go through my booking… my credit card is now accepted… great…
hang on… wait a minute boy…. you thought it would be that easy??
The guy on the phone then asks me… ok sir, can I have her visa number
Huh… what? visa what?
Visa number sir, we must have a visa number to complete the booking…
but… what? why? how? where? when? WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!
yes, sir, visa number, sir, please, sir…
but you didn’t need a visa number on the website!!! why do you need one now!!!!!! I know she needs (and I) need a visa to go to india, but why for booking a good damn plane ticket!!!?
huh sir, that’s the rule sir, etc, etc…

ok… I breath in, I breath out… it is now 1am in the morning… I have a meeting at 9.30am, I have to wake up early (according to my standards)… and we are still at the same point!!!
Now…. the reason why I was a bit worried is because I already had booked the hotel, a visa may take about 2 weeks to get granted… that was the only airline which offered exactly the flight connection we needed… if we wait 2 weeks and then call and then they say: sorry… sold out… then that wouldn’t be good, would it?
So ok… I said good night to the chap and went to bed…
of course I couldn’t really sleep… I kept thinking about what could I do to make this happen…

then in the morning I had an idea… first, I drunk a red bull to help me open at least one eye…
then I called the airline company who was holding my ticket waiting for the visa to come though…
I asked them to cancel the booking… no reason given… just cancel the booking… done.
Then I went online… and started to book the flights through there website again… but this time, by credit card was accepted… et voila… I have the tickets!!!! ahahaha!!!

So thats it really…
then, well… now, in fact I didn’t really asked my boss about taking 2 weeks holidays before going to work in Bangalore… nor did I get real confirmation that I would be allowed to go to bangalore for work (because of cost cutting)… so I had to play it right… which I did… I was going to go to india that was always the case… but they wanted me to maybe go a bit later… so I managed to convince them it was the best time for me to go there… and somehow, well, it actually is!!! no, really!!! for the work I have at the moment, this is the best time, so here we are… I have also my plane tickets booked!!! great!!! All done!!

Boy, boy, boy… hold on there… don’t get too excited!! :o)
I realized my Visa expires in mid november… doh…
So I asked our team assistant to get me another 6 months work visa… which he did… but they made it so much more difficult to get one… It has been a full week of email exchange with that assistant, always asking me for an extra info (a utility bill from… one year ago!!, photos, etc, etc)
Now my form should be on its way… It should be the end of this mini adventure of booking a holiday in India! :o)
Of course, Miss C also need to get a visa and get some vaccines… lets hope it is easy for her!!!
And my credit card hasn’t been charged yet neither for my hotel nor my flights… I will wait a bit before making further enquiries… :o)

But hey… now I am so excited about it!!!!! :o)
I am sure it will be great holidays!!! can’t wait!!

Enfin!! je viens de finir de reserver nos vacances en Inde! arf!! c’etait dure et un peu stressant!
D’abord, j’ai reserve l’hotel… ok… jai regarde pendant des semaines pour un hotel qui aille, tout le temps que je trouvais un truc de bien je pouvais lire un truc horrible dessus quelque part.
Comme par exemple que les employes etaient mal polis, ca sentait mauvais, etc… ok, je sais qu’un hotel ne va pas plaire a tout le monde… mais quand meme…
Et en Inde, beaucoup d’hotel sont reference sur des sites web dont on a jamais entendu parle et avec seulement un numero de telephone indien a appele… super… comment tu sais si l’hotel existe vraimment ou si tu parle a la bonne personne!!
Donc a la fin, j’ai trouve un bon compromis… c’est un hotel sympas, tres prestigieux et qui fait partie d’une chaine d’hotel perstigieuse mais qui a besoin de renovation.. donc il y a eu quelques mauvaises revues a cause de ca… car les personnes s’attendait a un hotel 5 etoiles et ce n’est pas le cas… mais la pluspart des revues etaient bonnes et surtout, tout le monde a dit que le staff etait super sympas et l’hotel super propre! Je vais metre en ligne les details de la ou on va reste, mais vous pourrez seulement voire cette news si vous etes logger.
Ensuite… les ticket d’avion… doh…
J’ai essayer de reserver les tickets pour Miss C et j’ai regarder a TELLEMENT de combinaisons de companie aeriennes… pourque lon puisse avoir une connection a temps entre un gros aeroport international indien avec un petit aeroport local dans le sud de L’ind…a la fin j’ai finalement reussi a trouver une companie… j’essaye de reserver les tickers en ligne… il me demande le numero de passport…ok… il faut attendre un peu plus pour que j’ai cette info… jessaye a nouveau une fois que je connais le numero… et la on me dit qu’il y a un probleme avec ma carte de credit… AAAAH… j’appelle la companie aerienne et on me dit que pour des raisons de securite il faut que jappelle ma companie de carte de credit pour quils autorisent l’utilisation de ma carte banquaire sur leur site… a ce moment il est 22h du soir… je suis tres fatigue car je n’ai pas vraimment dormi beaucoup ces derniers jours (passe trop de temps a travailler tard pour le boulot aider un amis avec son ordi portable, travailler sur mon ordi pour mes photos, stresser un peu a cause de choses au boulot, etc)… je les appelle… on me dit: “Desole monsieur mais notre systeme ne marche pas pour l’instant, essayer apres minuit”… AAAARGH!! c’est quoi ce bordel de m*rde!!! je dois avouer que la je commencais a en avoir un peu marre!! tout ce que je voulais c’etait de RESERVER NOS VACANCES POUR QUE JE PUISSE ME RELAXER!!
ahah! et tout ce que cela me faisait… c’etait de me stresser! seulement parceque tout semblait tellement difficile/complique a faire!
vous savez… vous trouver un site web sympas dont vous avez confiance, ca a l’air jolie, on clique 2 ou 3 bouttons, c’est reserve… on ouvre une bouteille de vin, on celebre, temps passe: 1 jour maximum…
at ce niveau la… ca faisait entre 2 et 3 semaines que je regardais pour des vacances en inde…

de toute facon… j’etais determiner a reserver ces vacances!!! JE VAIS ALLER EN INDE ET JE VAIS PASSER UN BON MOMENT!!! hehe :o)
Donc j’ai attendus minuit et demi pour les appeller… ils ont autoriser ma carte pour ce site web…
je rappelle la companie aerienne… on regarde mon booking… ma carte de credit est accepte… super…
attends… 2 secondes mon garcon… tu pensais que c’etait si facile que cela??
Le mec au telephone me demande: Ok monsieur, je peux avoir son numero de visa
huh… quoi? Visa quoi?
Le numero de visa monsieur, il faut un numero de visa pour finir la reservation…
mais… quoi? pourquoi? comment? ou? quand? QUOI ?!??!!?!?!
oui, monsieur, numero de visa, monsieur, sil vous plait, monsieur…
mais vous n’avez pas besoin de numero de visa quand jai reserve en ligne!! pourquoi il en faut un maintenant!!!! je sais bien quil lui en faudra un (et a moi aussi) pour aller en Inde, mais pourquoi en faut il un maintenant pour reserver ce bon sang de ticket???
heu… monsieur, c’est les regles monsieur, etc, etc…

Ok… je respire fort…. il est maintenant 1h du matin… j’ai un meeting a 9.30 et je dois me reveiller tot (d’apres mes habitudes)… et on en est toujours au meme point!!!
maintenant… la raison pourquoi ca me chagrine un peu c’est que j’ai deja reserver l’hotel et qu’un visa peut prendre 2 semaines a etre issue… et que c’est la seule companie aerienne qui m’offre exactement les conenctions quil me faut… et si on attends 2 semaine et qu’on les appel et quils nous disent: desole, complet… ca ne sera pas tres bien, hein?
Donc ok… j’ai dit au revoir au gars et je suis aller me coucher…
bien sure je nai pas tres bien dormis… jarretais pas de penser a quelles etaient mes options…

donc le matin j’ai eu une idee… d’abord, j’ai bus une cannette de red bull pour qu’au moins un de mes yeux reste ouvert..
ensuite j’ai appelle la companie aerienne qui avait reserver mon ticket et attendait pour mon numero de visa..
Je demande qu’ils annulent ma reservation… pas donne de raison… juste quils doivent annuler… fait.
Et ensuite je vais enligne… et il je recommence a reserver tous mes vols sur le site web… mais cette fois ci ma carte de credit est accepte… et voila… j’ai les tickets!!! ahahah!!

Donc voila en fait…
maintenant, bein… en fait je n’avais pas vraimment encore demande a mon boss si c’etait ok que je prenne 2 semaines de vacances avant d’aller bosser a Bangalore… et en fait je navais pas eu non plus la confirmation que je serais autoriser a bosser a Bangalore (a cause des reduction de budget)… donc il fallait que je la joue fine… et je lai fait… je devais alelr en inde de toute facon… mais il vouait que j’y aille peut-etre un peu plus tard… donc j’ai reussi a convaincre mon manager que c’etait a ces dates que c’etait le mieux… et en fait… par chance… bein ca l’ait!! non vraimment!! pour le travaille que je fais en ce moment, c’est les 2 meilleurs semaine pour que jaille en inde… donc voila… j’ai aussi mes billets davion reserve!!! super!! tout estfini!!!

mon garcon, mon garcon, mon garcon…. attends un peu la… ne t’excite pas trop!! :o)
J’ai realise que mon Visa va expirer mi novembre… doh!!
donc j’ai demander le secretaire au boulot de me prendre un autre visa de boulot pour 6 mois… ce qu’il a fait… mais tout  ce quil faut faire pour avoir un visa en inde maintennant est plus complique… et apres une semaine d’echange de mail avec le secretaire qui me demandait tout le temps plus dinfo (une note de telephone qui date… d’un an!! photos, etc, etc).
Donc maintenant mon dossier devrait etre envoyer pour ce visa… et cela devrais etre la fin de nos mini aventure pour reserver des vacances en Indes! :o)
Et bien sure… Miss C doit prendre un visa et faire des vaccins… esperons que cela sera plus facile pour elles…
et puis… ma carte de credit n’as toujours pas ete debiter… ni pour l’hotel ni pour les avions…. je vais attendre un peu avant de les rappeller… :o)

Mais bon… je suis super excite a propos de ces vacances!!! :o)
Toutes ces difficulte nont fait que de vouloi y aller encore plus!! je suis sure que cela va etre de super vavances et trop hate d’y etre!!

2. You can carry a gun from the age of… 15!!!?!!?? what the hell!!?!?
3. That guy published a youtibe video saying he was going to kill people a few days before, the police interviewed him about it, they didn’t arrest him and not even took his gun… the next day… he kills 10 people…

Man… the world is crasy!!!!

Vous avez surement du entendre parle de l’etudiant finlandais qui a tue 10 autres etudiant en Finlande….
Il y a 3 chose qui m’ont surpris quand j’ai lu la presse a ce sujet:
1. Finlande permet le port d’arme hyper facilement, plein de personnes portes des armes la bas.
2. On peut porter une arme a partir de… 15 ans!?!?!!? c’est quoi ce bordel!?!?!?
3. Ce mec la avait publier sur youtube une video qui disait qu’il allait tuer des gens quelques jours avant, la police est venu le voir, ne l’a meme pas arrete et meme pas pris son arme… le jour suivant… il tue 10 personnes…

Putain… le monde est fou!!!!

In one of the previous post I was saying the journalist who interviewed me about the local club was certainly going to use my name… today I saw the paper… and I started to read:
“one local resident of XXX street who whishes to remain anonymous for fear of repraisal has said….” blablabla…
ahahah!!! what the hell!!! I thought… that is so bullshit!!!! he quoted me….

but then I read further…. and it read” blablabla… she believes there is underage drinking….etc”
…. SHE…. hehe…. good!! not me..

but in fact… very bad!! because by the fact the journalist gave so many details of the incidents she experienced you can so know who it is on the street!!! It is my neightboor!!! I still need to speak to her to see how she feels about that!!
oh well… made me laugh… it isn’t that bad!!! fear of reprisal…. yeah right!!!

Dans une de mes news precendente je vais ai dit qu’un journaliste qui m’avait interviewez a propos d’un pub local allait surement utiliser mon nom… ce matin j’ai vus le journal… et ca commencait comme ca:
“quelqu’un de local qui veut rester anonyme par peur de represailles a dit….” blablabla
ahahah!! mais c’est quoi ce bordel!!! je me suis dit… c’est n’importe quoi!!! il m’a cite!!
et puis j’ai lu un peu plus… et ca disait “blablabla… elle croie qu’il y a des mineures qui boivent… etc”
…. ELLE… ahah… tres bien!! pas moi…

mais en fait… c’est pas bien… car le journaliste a dit tellement de details des problemes qu’il y avait eu avec elle que c’est oblige que tout le monde dans la rue sache qui sait!!! c’est ma voisine!!! je vais aller lui parler pour savoir ce quelle pense de ca!!
bah.. moi ca m’a fait marrer un peut.. c’est pas si mal que ca!!! peut de represailles…. ouais c’est ca!!!!

What?! a week without a post! that’s not good hey! right… so here is my update…
what happened since last week…

well first, let’s speak about what I have learnt today! about 2 months ago I went for an interview for some kind of professional IT security certification (something like CISSP but a new thing). I was suppose to prepare that interview but… huh… well.. as usual I did not have the time to do so! The interview went OK, but I wasn’t sure if I would get that new professional certification or not… today I got an email saying that I passed!
Yeeeahaaaa!
So tonight I was suppose to go boxing… instead I am drinking coronas…
doh! I need to get back into sport!!!! cannot slip back to me old me not doing any sports

I have now almost finished planning our November holidays with Miss C in India. In fact I have to go back to India in november for work (hopefully I wont write as much in my blog as I did last time! . So I thought I could use that free business flight to India to then go on holiday.
Which is what we are doing… I will be going to India 2 weeks early and Miss C will join me for the second week… she may even stay at my hotel in Bangalore for a couple of nights.
That searching for holidays has been SOOOOO time consuming!! but I think I have got it… I have booked the hotel… now I am waiting to book the planes…

yes… there is a small chance that my work turns around and say: oh, by the way, you are not required to fly to India anymore… but I am hopeful it won’t happen!! ;o)

So we are going in Kerala, a place in south India. It should be nice… I’ll keep you all updated anyway!

Last weekend I went with miss C to a painting exhibition in the Tate Britain… it was ok… but the painting were a bit creepy!!! I much preferred walking down the thames bank as usual… I took quite a lot of photos too… they are in the photos section. One made it in my top 10…

Yes… now in the best photo sections there are not only a slideshow of my good photos and best photos… but also of my top 30, top 20 and top 10 photos.
This is because now there are more than 800 photos I have tagged as good!!
So you can quickly see which ones are my favorite and believe are worth a look!

On thursday, I went to an IT security sponsored do… free drinks… in central London… what a mistake.. I have a massive hangover on the Friday… then on that evening I had to go out for a diner with some friends… ok…
then on saturday I went  for a south african birthday…
My head still hurts!!! (maybe that because of the corona I am currently drinking!!!! ;0)
Anyway… a very good weekend!
And now I am starting to think about doing more sports and eating healthy! thats a start!!

too many things to do… too little time!!!!

Quoi!? une semaine sans de news! ca ne va pas hein!! bon… alors voila mon update…
que c’est il passe depuis la semaine derniere…

D’abord, laissez moi vous parler de ce que j’ai appris aujourd’hui! il y a environ 2 mois je suis aller a un entretien pour une sorte de certification professionelle de securite informatique (un truc comme le CISSP mais de plus nouveau). J’etais suppose preparer cet entretien mais… bein… comme d’habitude je n’ai pas eu le temps de le faire! L’entretien etait OK mais je n’etais pas sure de pouvoir avoir cette certification professionel ou pas…
aujourd’hui j’ai recus un email me disant que j’avais reussi!
YEeeeeeehaaaa!
Donc ce soir je devais aller a la boxe… a la place je bois des coronas…
doh! j’ai besoin de refaire du sport!!! je ne peux pas me laisser retomber dans le vieux moi sans faire de sport!

J’ai presque fini de planifier nos vacances de noel avec Miss C en Inde. En fait je dois retourner en Inde en Novembre pour le boulot (j’espere que je n’ecrirais pas autant de truc sur mon blog que j’ai ecrit en Juin! ;). Donc je pensais que je pourrais utiliser ce vol gratuit en classe affaire pour l’inde pour aller aussi en vacances.
Ce que je fais… je vais aller en Inde 2 semaine avant avec Miss C qui me rejoindrera pour la 2e semaine… elle va peut-etre meme reste 2 nuits dans mon hotel a Bangalore.
Cette recherche de vacances a ete SUPER lente et demandant plein de temps! mais je pense que c’est fait… j’ai reserver un hotel… et maintenant il faut que je reserver les avions…

oui… il y a une petite chance que mon boulot me dise: Oh… en fait on a plus besoin que tu aille en Inde… mais j’espere que cela ne sera pas le cas!! :o)

Donc on va aller a Kerala, un endroit dans le sud de l’inde. Ca devrait etre simpas… je vous tiendrais au courant de toute facon!

Oui… maintenant dans la section des meilleurs photos il y a non seulement des slideshow de mes good et best photos mais aussi de mes top 30, top 20 et top 10 photos.
C’est parceque maintenant il y a pret de 800 photos qui sont tagge comme GOOD!
Donc comme ca vous pouvez rapidement voir quelles sont les photos que jai prise que je prefere.

Jeudi dernier, je suis aller a un meeting de securite informatique ou les boissons etaient gratuites… au cnetre de Londres… quelle erreure… j’ai eu une super gueule de bois le Vendredi… et cette meme soire je suis sortie pour diner avec des amis… ok…
et ensuite samedi je suis aller a un anniversaire d’un africain du sud…
ma tete me fait encore mal!! (mais c’est peut-etre parceque je bois des coronas maintenant!! ;o)
De toute facon… un super bon weekend!
Et maintenant je commence a penser a faire plus de sport a novueau et mange plus sainement! c’est un debut!

Trop de choses a faire… pas assez de temps!!!

This morning I am working from home… one of the last few times I will be able to as from the 1st of November (or nearby) everyone will have to work in the office 5 days a week (I currently only go there 2 days).
But… that’s not the subject of my post!!!
This morning I hear the door bell ringing, I go down and see that guy looking like a student…
In fact, he is a journalist from a local newspaper (county) and he is running an article regarding one of the social club very near my house (the dodgy one and the fact the police is trying to close it down because there is under age drinking going on there…
ok… I am a member of that club… not a very good place if you like somewhere posh, but I don’t mind it… yes there are sometimes young people who drinking just in front of my house… I don’t know if they are under age… and I don’t know if they get their alcohol from that club…
Thats what I said to him…
then he asks for my name
and stupidly I give it to him… reflex…
I asked why he needs my name… he says he needs it for the quote for the news paper… doh…
hangon a sec… I am member of that club, I don’t want my name in the newspaper associated with an article about closing it down!!!
The journalist assures me he won’t use my name and that I haven’t said anything wrong…
right…
I know… I know 100% that he WILL use my name, and he will change slightly what I said so it looks like: “local resident confirm young people underage drinking in front of his house, buying the drinks from that club, making noise, etc… his name is: XXXX”
great…
what an idiot I was!
oh well… never mind… part of me like that club, but I also don’t like to have all those young idiots getting drunk in front of my house…
so I don’t care that much… I will do some damage control on wednesday… I will go to the club and tell the guys there that I was interviewed… and tell them exactly what I said!

I can’t even go out of my house now without having a journalist asking e questions… I am so famous… I can’t take it!! ;o)

Ce matin je travaille depuis chez moi… une des dernieres fois d’ailleurs car a partir du 1er novembre (ou pret de cette date la) je vais devoir aller a l’office 5 jours par semaine (pour l’instant j’y vais que 2 jours).

Ce matin j’ai entendu la porte sonner, je descends voir et il y a une sorte d’etudiant en face de moi…
en fait, c’est un journaliste d’un journal local (region) qui fait un article sur un des clubs socials qui est pret de ma maison (celui qui craint un peu) et le fait que la police veut le fermer car ils servnt de l’alcohol a des mineurs…
Ok… moi je suis un membre de ce club… pas un endroit tres bien si vous voulez un truc respectable… mais moi ca ne me fait rien… oui, parfois il y a des jeunes qui boivent justent devant chez moi… je ne sais pas sil sont mineurs… et je ne sais pas non plus sils achetent leur alcohol depuis le club…
c’est ce que je lui est dit…
et il a demande mon nom
et stupidement je lui ai donne… un reflexe…
jai demande pourquoi il devait avori mon nom et il me dit quil a besoin de cela pour faire un citation… doh…
attends un peu… je suis membre de ce club, je ne veux pas mon nom associer a un article de journal lie a sa fermeture!!!
Le journaliste m’a assure qu’il n’utilisera pas mon nom et que je n’avais rien dit de mal…
c’est ca…
je sais… je sais a 100% qu’il VA utiliser mon nom et qu’il va aussi changer un peu ce que jai dit pour que cela ressemble a un truc comme: “un habitant local confirme que des mineurs boivent devant sa maison, achetant leur boisson dans le club, faisant du bruit,etc… son nom est: XXXX”
Super…
Quel idiot je fais!
Oh bein… pas grave… une partie de moi aime bien ce club, mais il y a aussi une autre partie qui n’aime pas ces jeunes idiots qui se bourrent la gueule devant ma maison…
Donc je m’en fou un petit peu… je vais aller reparer ca mercredi… je vais aller au club et dire que j’ai ete interviewez… je leur dirais exactement ce que j’ai dit!

Je ne peux meme plus sortir de ma maison maintenant sans etre interviewez par des journalistes… je suis tellement celebre… je ne supporte pas!!! ;o)

So… that big tunnel accelerator proton  thingy in France/Switwerland has been switched on yesterday… they think they may be able to create mini black hole… and some people believes it is a bad idea because it could create a chain reaction and destroy the earth.

What do I think…

Well, I think it is a bad idea because there is a risk as nobody really knows what will happen. It is like creating a virus artificially which could wipe out the human race in a lab which is so secure and a virus which can only live for 1 tenth of a nano second… but at that point, if that virus mutate, if that virus somewhat escape then that’s bad…

BUT… and that’s a big BUT! I also like science and that this is so unlikely it happens I think they are right to do this, so we advance in our quest of knowledge… Still, I can understand why some people are against it. 

The risk is not NULL and the consequences could be worldwide… those scientists haven’t asked if you, me were OK to be blasted off..

Oh… yeah… nothing bad happened yesterday so we are OK… but… well… they are only starting to COLLIDE those protons in about 10 days… that’s when the unknown starts. Now… I just renewed my home insurance… wonder if it covers if my house gets swallowed by a black hole…No?  what about a mini black hole? doh… too bad!!!

Donc… ce grand tunnel accelerateur proton truc en france/suisse a ete allume hier… ils pensent qu’ils vont pouvoir recreer des mini black hole… et des personnes pensent que c’est une mauvaise idee car cela pourrait creer une reaction en chaine qui detruirait la terre.

Ce que j’en pense…

Bein, je pense que c’est une mauvaise idee car il y a un risque car personne ne sait vraimment ce qu’il va se passer. C’est comme creer un virus artificiellement qui pourrait effacer la race humaine dans un laboratoire qui est super securise et un virus qui ne vie que 1 dixiemme de nano seconde… mais si a un moment le virus change, qu’il s’echappe alors la c’est pas bien..

MAIS… et il y a un gros MAIS! J’aime la science et c’est vraimment tres improble que cela arrive donc je pense que c’est bien ce qu’il font, pour que l’on avance nos connaissance… mais quand meme, je peux comprendre pourquoi certainnes personnes sont contre.

Le risque n’est pas completement NUL et les consequences peuvent etre mondiales… ces scientifiques n’ont pas demande ni vous ni a moi si on etait d’accord d’etre annihiler…

Oh… yep… rien ne s’est passe de mal hier donc ca va… mais… bein… ils vonts seulement commencer a faire les vrais experiences (entre en colision les protons) dans environ 10 jours… c’est la que l’inconnu commence. Maintenant… je viens juste de renouveller mon assurance maison… je me demande si cela couvre ma maison si elle est avalee par un trou noire… non? et si c’etait un mini trou noire? Arf… pas de chance!!

So last weekend we went to Cambridge, we were quite lucky with the weather because it was suppose to be rainy/storm all weekend. Instead, I just had to drive through a sea of rain on Friday night and we had a sunnish weekend!

Cambridge is beautiful really, we just walked randomly in the street of Cambridge and ended up in a pub all night :o)

Apparently that pub was famous because next to our table there was a sign saying:

In this room XXX and XXX declared they discovered DNA”

We visited the Kings College Church and that’s impressive!!!

I also manage to convince Miss C to watch the thai boxing fights… she didn’t mind it too much in the end ;o)

The guy from my club who was fighting and with whom I spar 3 weeks ago got actually thrown out the tournement!! why?? well because it was suppsoe to be light contact (yeah right!!) and he knocked down his oponent in the first round with a hook on the chin…

I have been back to boxing the last 2 days and am thinking of going tonight… 3 nights in a row… not sure though!!!

And tomorrow night… well it may be time I go and say hello to the people I know in the 2 social clubs where I live… don’t really fancy that really but I think I should keep a tie with the locals!!! :o)

Donc le weekend dernier on est alle a Cambridge, on a eu de la chance car il etait suppose pleuvoir/orage tout le temps et en fait j’ai juste du conduire dans une mer de pluie vendredi soir et apres on a eu des eclaircis tout le weekend!

Cambridge est une ville tres bellle en fait, on a marche un peu aleatoirement dans les rues de la ville et on a finie dans un pub toute la nuit :o)

apparement ce pub etait celebre… juste a cote de notr etable il y avait un ecritaux qui disait:

“c’est dans cette piece que XXX et XXX on declare avoir decouvert l’ADN”

On a visite l’eglise de Kings college et c’etait super impressionant!!

J’ai aussi reussi a convaincre Miss C de venir voir les combats de thai boxing… elle a trouve ca pas trop mal a la fain ;o)

Le mec du mon club qui combattait et avec qui je m’etais battu a lentrainement il y a 3 semaines a en fait ete ejecte du tournois!! pourquoi??

Bein parcequ’en fait c’etait senser etre seulement “contact leger” (ouais c’est ca!!) et il a mis KO son adversaire au premier round avec un crochet au menton..

je suis retourne a la boxe ces 2 derniers jours et je pense y aller aussi ce soir… 3 soirs de suite… pas sure de ca!!!

Et demains soir.. bein il est peut-etre temps de retourner boire une pinte et dire bonjour a ceux que je connais des 2 clubs social qui sont dans mon village… j’ai pas vraimment envie de faire ca… mais bon.. faut peut etre que je reste en contact avec les locaux!!! :o)

Funny… Apple is to announce some big news today… 2 minutes to go and I have 3 different live blogs from journalist who are at the conference open… waiting like a kid for father xmas to talk! :o)

Last night I went for a diner with my boss, we were invited by one of the company we are dealing with. There was there director of Sales, director of Marketing, and European sales manager. We went to a very nice restaurant in Chelsea, central London.
All good… yeah… but…

First, I arrived 15 minutes late!!! DOH!!!! what is WRONG with me!!! why do I ALWAYS have to be 15 minutes late!!! no matter what I try!!!!

So well… I arrive to the restaurant , my boss already warned everybody it was normal I was late, great… And for some reason the most senior guy of that company who invited us kept telling me I will be the one choosing the expansive wine this evening… right ok… whatever!!

So here comes diner… wine list arrives… I choose…
hehe…. well… he said I would select expansive wine… ok… and they are paying… very well…
That evening I chose 3 bottles of wine… all costing around 200 pound a bottle :o)
it could have been much worse… there were some bottles at around 500 quid… maybe I should have really went for it ;o)

Anyway… first bottle arrive… by the way, I did select only wine I knew… chateau neuf du pape for the first one (something called De la jaunasse 2003), cote rotie  2001 for the second bottle and a pommerol 1999 for the cheese…

anyway… first bottle arrive, I am being asked to taste it… fine… very fine
So far so good…
everyone has their glass filled with wine… then everyone looks at me… and that director of sales tells me:
Well… would you be ever so kind to to describe the wine we are about to drink so we can look forward to it?

huh…
HUH….
(the fact is, I know nothing about wine… what am I gonna say ?!?!)
So my answer was…
Well… you know, this is very difficult for me to describe a wine in English, I have only learnt to describe it in French…
and the guy to suggest things like : does it open in the mouth, the tannin, etc…
and me to just kind of agree and repeat his words by saying things like
Yes, you could say it opens in the mouth, it is more subtle than this though… aaah… what is the english word for this… so frustrating… very full bodied…
at some point he asked me from which french region it came from
Region??
ah yeah… the region…. well… it is between Lyon and Champagne… yes, a very nice region, I went there last year, lovely little villages, with some very nice river, blablablabla…
After a while I had to put an end to this police interogation!!!! so I said to him it was a very special wine which really should be appreciated in …. silence!!!!!!!!

that’s it… sayed it…. shut the f*ck up!!!!!!!  and let me enjoy my wine, my expansive wine, which you are paying for!! ;o))

Just after this happened I spoke to the european director who was sitting next to me… and thinking about all that bullshit I just said to that other guy and the fact they kept agreeing on what I was saying and that I made such a great choice, etc… well… as I started to speak to that guy I started laugthing… I couldn’t help it!!
I had to explain it wasn’t because of what he was saying, something to do with … huh… can’t remember what I said now! but it was OK because I made everyone laugth and it was all right! :o)

Then, just before dessert, I go to the toilet… when I wash my hand, I take some soap… that soap liquid soap almost exploded on me and ended up with my left leg covered in soap… I rinse it… soap foam everywhere on my suit….
so here I am…
In the toilet of this super posh restaurant…. supposedly a being labelled as a wine expert… and my left leg is covered in soap foam… and it is not going away…
doh… double doh!!
no dryier either… oh well… I try to make the soap diseapear as much as I can and when I go back in the restaurant I walked as quickly as I could to my table… so… where were we? ah yeah… that wine, very good, very mature!! ;o)

hehe…
That was a fun night… I quite enjoyed myself there!
The big guy who paid for the meal is coming back in November and wants to invite us again… sure man!!! there are a few more bottle of wine I’d like to try!!!! ;o))

Hier soir je suis aller a un diner avec mon boss, on etait invite par une compagnie avec qui on a des affaires. Il y avait leur directeur des ventes, directeur de Marketing, et leur manager des ventes europeenes. On est aller dans un tres bon restaurant a Chelsea dans le centre de Londre.
Tout etait bien… yup… mais…

Donc bon… jarrive au restaurant, mon boss etait deja la et avait deja avertir tout le monde que c’etait normal que je sois en retard… super! et pour une raison quelconque le gars le plus senior de la companie qui nous invitait n’arraitait pas de me dire que je serais celui qui choisirait un vin cher pour le repas…heu d’accord… m’enfou!

Donc voila le diner… la liste des vins arrive… je choisi…
hehe… bein… il a dit qu’il fallait que je choisisse des vins cher… ok… et ils payent… tres bien…
Cette soiree j’ai choisi 3 bouteilles de vins… qui ont toutes coute environ 200 pound chaque bouteille :o)
Ca aurait pus etre pire… il y avait des bouteilles a 500 pound… peut-etre que j’aurais vraimment du abuser ;o)

bah… la premiere bouteille arrive… au fait, j’ai seulement selectionner des vins que je connaissais… chateau neuf du pape (un truc appele de la jaunasse 2003), cote rotie 2001 et un pommerol 1999 pour le fromage…

donc… la premiere bouteille arrive, on me demande de gouter… bien… tres bien meme! :o)
pour l’instant tout va bien…
tout le monde a son verre de vin… ensuite tout le monde me regarde… et le directeur des ventes me dit:
bien… pourriez vous nous faire l’honneur de decrire le vin que nous allons deguster pour savoir a quoi s’attendre?

heu..
HEU….
(en fait, je ne connais rien en vin… que vais je dire?!!?!?)
Donc ma reponse a ete…
bein.. vous savez, il est tres difficile pour moi de vous decrire ces vins en anglais, je ne connais que les termes en francais..
et le mec de me suggered des truc du genre: qui s’ouvre en bouche, le tanin, etc…
et moi de juste etre daccord avec lui et de repeter ce quil me dit en disant des trucs genre:
oui, on peu dire qu’il ouvre en bouche, mais c’est plus delicat que cela…aaaaah… quel est deja le mot en anglais pour cela… tellement frustrant… oui tres en bouche…
a un moment, il me demande: alors, de quelle region vient ce vin
region? heu… oui, la region… bein c’est entre lyon et la champagne… oui, une tres belle region d’ailleurs, j’y suis aller l’annee derniere, de superbes petits village, avec rivierres superbe, blablabla…
a la fin il a fallut que j’arrete cette interrogation policiere et je lui est dit que c’etait un vin tres special qui vraimment devrait etre apprecier en… silence!!!!!!

Voila… ca y est c’est dit… ferme ta g*eule!!! et laisse moi apprecier ce vin, ce vin si cher, que tu paye!!! ;o))

Juste apres cela, le mec a cote de moi qui etait le directeur europeen commence a me parler…. et moi j’etais en train de penser a toutes ces conneries que je venais de dire a l’autre mec et le fait que tout le monde etait tout le temps d’accord avec ce que je disais, que c’etait un si bon choix, etc… bein… alors que je commence a repondre a ce directeur… je commence a rire!!! je ne pouvais pas m’en empecher!!!
J’ai du explique que ce n’etait pas a cause de ce quil me disait, quelquechose a voir avec… heu… je ne me rappelle plus de ce que j’ai dit maintenant! mais ca allait car j’ai fait rire tout le monde et c’etait bon! :o)

Ensuite, juste avant le dessert je descend au toilette… quand je me lave les mains je prends du savon.. et ce savon liquide explose sur moi et je me retrouve avec ma jambe gauche couverte de savon.. je rince… et le savon fait de la mousse comme pas possible… sur mon costard…
donc me voila…
dans les toilettes d’un restaurant super posh… apparemment je suis un expert en vin… ma jambe gauche est couverte de savon moussant… et ca ne part pas…
arf…. ARF!!!
pas de sechoir non plus… bah… j’essaye de faire disparaitre le savon autant que je peux et je reviens dans le restaurant, je marche aussi vite que je peux a ma table… alors… on en etait ou? ah oui, ce vin, tres bon, oui, tres mature!! ;o)

hehe… c’etait une soiree bien marrante… je me suis bien amuser en tout cas!
Le gros boss de cette companie qui a paye reviens en Novembre et veut nous invite a nouveau… bien sure mon gars!! il y a encore quelques bouteilles de vins que je voudrais essayer!!! ;o))
